Large pixel-addressable LED light sculpture installed for a Lexus presentation in Kyiv.

Custom electronics and LED control · Custom electronics and generative Max/MSP control for a 150-metre pixel-addressable LED light sculpture created for Lexus.

Lexus Light Art Installation

Kyiv, Ukraine2016
Technical role

Created for a Lexus presentation in Kyiv, this large-scale light sculpture used approximately 150 metres of pixel-addressable LED strip. The installation required the lighting, electronics and generative content to operate as one coordinated visual system.

Working as part of the Blckbox Studio team, I developed the control electronics and programmed the system that distributed animation across the sculpture’s physical geometry. Generative sequences were created in Max/MSP and mapped to the individual LED sections, allowing colour and movement to flow through the entire structure.

My work covered electronics design, LED control, generative programming, system testing and on-site setup.

The result was a programmable light installation that translated the original creative direction into a system ready for presentation and live operation.

The artistic concept was created by Sasha Mychak.
